A CAS file is a record you already have.

A consolidated account statement lists holdings a depository or a registrar already keeps for you. It is not a login, not an order, and not something GrowUrDhan goes and fetches.

What it usually contains

Units or shares, a folio or demat identifier, and often cost. People download one when holdings sit in more than one place and they want a file instead of a broker password.

CDSL and NSDL are not CAMS and KFin

CDSL and NSDL are the two Indian depositories. A demat CAS from either one is about securities held in demat accounts. CAMS and KFintech are registrar and transfer agents. Their statements are about mutual fund folios, which may never appear in a demat CAS. NPS is a third kind of file, from the pension record, not from those four. GrowUrDhan is built to read the files you choose from these sources, on the phone. It does not open an account with any of them.

What stays on the device

You pick the file. Parsing happens on the device. There is no GrowUrDhan server that receives the PDF. The vault is encrypted with keys in Android Keystore. See Security.

What the app does not do

  • It does not log into CDSL, NSDL, CAMS, KFin, or NPS.
  • It does not download a fresh statement every month.
  • It does not read your email to find the file.
  • It does not place an order or start a SIP.
  • It does not treat the statement as investment advice.

If you want a newer file, you download it yourself from the source that issued it, then import that file again.
